Exterior Auto-Dimming Mirrors
Gentex makes the highest-quality, most-durable exterior auto-dimming mirrors available. They're controlled by and dim in tandem with the vehicle's interior auto-dimming mirror.
Flat Technlogy
For driver's-side applications. Mirrors yield a one-to-one image ratio.
Convex Technology
For driver's-side and passenger-side applications. Mirror glass is curved to provide a slightly expanded field of view.
Thin/Flat Technology
For use in decreasing mirror weight and eliminating vibration. Mirror glass is only 1.1mm - 1.6mm thick, compared to 2.2mm thickness for conventional glass. Perfect for large mirrors, truck applications, etc.
Aspheric (Blind-Spot Eliminating) Technology
Aspheric glass is curved significantly to provide an extremely wide field of view that virtually eliminates the driver's blindspots. Allows the driver to see 200 percent more area than the traditional flat mirror and nearly 40 percent more than even the most curved convex mirror.

Used moderately in Asia and extensively in Europe in both driver- and passenger-side applications. Currently not legal for use on the driver's side in the U.S.
Three-Mirror System
Gentex provides several vehicle manufacturers with auto-dimming mirror systems comprised of three mirrors (an interior mirror and two exterior mirrors). These systems eliminate the maximum amount of glare possible to protect driver vision and make nighttime driving safer.
LED Turn Signal
Exterior automatic-dimming mirrors with turn signals help increase driving safety by enhancing visibility. Arrow shape or economical single-point indicator styles are available.
Privacy Glass Compensation
Privacy glass (window tinting) is very popular. While tinting does reduce interior mirror glare to a certain extent, it can't protect the driver from glare in the vehicle's exterior mirrors because U.S. safety standards prohibit heavy tinting of driver and passenger front-door window glass.

The Gentex three-mirror system with Privacy Glass Compensation solves this problem. Our proprietary compensation circuitry automatically monitors forward and rearward light levels while signaling the exterior mirrors to react sooner and become darker than their interior counterpart when glare is detected. As a result, glare is eliminated while allowing uniform light levels to reach the driver's eyes.
